Rolls-Royce and Bentley may remain the ultimate fantasy of luxury and opulence on wheels for many. But, it seems Mercedes-Benz has decided to upstage these brands with the launch of its new car model - Mercedes-Benz S-Class Pullman which is expected to be launched in 2016. This new car is expected to become the world’s most expensive production sedan when it goes on sale.
Rumoured to be priced approximately at Rs Six crore (exclusive of prices and duties) the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class Pullman will reportedly come standard with armour plating which reminds us of the past Mercedes models owned by former Philippine leader Ferdinand Marcos.
The highlight of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Pullman will however be its seating arrangement. According to reports, this luxury car will have three rows of seats in the 2+2+2 layout in which the rear two rows will face each other. They will be separated from the front row through a partition window to allow discretion from the chauffeur.
The Mercedes-Benz S-Class Pullman is expected to be equipped with a 5.5-litre biturbo V12 or a 4.6-litre twin-turbo V8 engine. The Pullman will cap an ongoing expansion of Mercedes's high-margin flagship into a line of six models, double the number of variants in the past. The plan includes a sporty coupe that goes on sale this fall.
