Mercedes-Benz reveals the fire breathing, AMG version of its all S-Class Coupe, the S63 AMG Coupe

Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe Front

The S-Class coupe is by far one of the most impressive cars made by Mercedes-Benz and now with a shot of AMG adrenaline, it is even better. The all-new Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe is the car that will replace the now defunct CL-Class worldwide. The large super coupe will rival the likes of the Bentley Continental GT and the Rolls-Royce Wraith while also taking on traditional GT cars like the Aston Martin DB9 and the Ferrari FF.

Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe Rear

The S63 AMG coupe is differentiated from the normal S-Class coupe by the customary AMG styling parts. The restyled front bumper with massive air intake ducts for additional cooling and a sportier look combined with the twin blade radiator grille makes the front fascia of the S63 AMG coupe look more aggressive. The ‘V8 BiTurbo’ badges on the front fenders along with the new rear bumper with a built in diffuser also adds to the visual appeal of the S63 AMG coupe. The customary quad exhaust pipes finished in high quality chrome and larger 20-inch multi spoke wheels wrapped with 255/45 front tyres and 285/40 rear profile tyres add to the visual appeal of the S63 AMG coupe.

Under the skin, the boffins at AMG have been hard at work resulting in the S63 coupe shedding 65kg of weight as compared to the standard car. The 5.5-litre, twin turbocharged, V8 engine is a whirlwind of exotic numbers. With 585PS, 30 more than the car it replaces and a staggering 900Nm of torque, the S63 gets from 0-100 in 4.3 seconds. The all wheel drive S63 AMG 4-Matic Coupe though is even faster making the same 0-100 run in 3.9-seconds, faster than the likes of the Aston Martin DB9 and just a tad slower than the V12 powered Ferrari FF.

Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe Interior

The Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG coupe features the same interior as the S-Class coupe with some additional sportier bits added. The dashboard is now festooned in high gloss carbonfiber replacing the traditional wood found in the normal non AMG version. The S63 AMG coupe also features the same large two LCD display screens on the dashboard displaying real time information about the car along with various other multimedia and navigation functions. The S63 AMG Coupe will cater to the likes of the more mature audience looking for an unassuming and subtle but extremely powerful automobile that can cover large distances really quickly in almost unmatched levels of luxury.
