Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class

Mercedes-Benz has released first official sketches for the upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV which is set to be unveiled to the world on June 17, 2015. The new GLC will be replacing the Mercedes-Benz GLK and will slot above the Mercedes-Benz GLA in terms of pricing and positioning going up against the likes of the BMW X3 and the Audi Q5.

The new SUV is set to bring about an all-new design element with muscular and wider fenders than the outgoing car. The new Mercedes-Benz GLC will also have a sporty two slat grille with swept back headlamps incorporating integrated LED daytime running lights and LED headlamps. The new GLC will also eventually get a GLC 63 AMG version with extremely aggressive styling and a 4.0-litre V8 engine. The new GLC will also spawn a coupe variant which will go up against the BMW X4.

The GLC will follow Mercedes-Benz’s new naming protocol. The GLC is essentially the SUV representation of the C-Class and will share the same or identical interior. The GLC will be available in both petrol and diesel variants internationally. However, India will most probably only get the diesel engine with a possibility of two engine maps giving different state of tune.
