Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake revealed!
The CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake has just upped the ante for performance estate cars

The station wagon was originally designed to put practicality before aspects such as style and performance. However, car makers realised that while people do buy station wagons for their practicality, when there are no kids in the back seat, some owners fancies a bit of performance. The result was a pumped up estate cars with big and powerful engines from their sedan counterparts.
Mercedes-Benz’s latest incarnation of a performance estate car is the new and rather excellent looking CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake. It packs in style, performance and practicality to create an estate car like never before with its designo wooden luggage compartment and swooping lines. While its design and styling make it unique, the defining factor of the CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake is its spray guided direct injection 5.5-litre bi-turbo V8 engine, available in two states of tune, a 532PS version with 700Nm of torque and the Edition 1 pack with 564PS of power and 800Nm of torque. The engines catapult the luxo barge to 100km/h from standstill in 4.4 and 4.3 seconds respectively. Both versions are electronically limited to 248km/h.
The engine is mated to a AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission that has four settings – ‘C’ for Controlled Efficiency, ‘S’ for Sport mode in which throttle response and gearshift are sharpened, the ‘S+’ or Sport Plus and the ‘M’ or manual mode.
AMG has also equipped the vehicle with its AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension with Comfort, Sport and Sport modes. An electronically controlled system automatically adjusts damping settings depending on the conditions.
