McLaren is set to launch three different versions of its forthcoming model, the P13

McLaren P13 to debut in three body styles

McLaren is focused to complete the development of its entry-level model P13. The new car will come in a coupe and convertible form and McLaren will chuck off tradition and develop a GT variant for its upcoming model that will feature a luggage compartment at the rear of the car.

According to reports, the McLaren P13 will look like more like an E-Type than the Jaguar F-Type.  The rear window of the new car is likely to feature a concave shape akin to the iconic Ferrari 206GT Dino. Though the GT version of the P13 is making headlines, the standard coupe and a drop-top Spider version will also be available.

All P13 variants will include the same carbon-fibre monocoque chassis and will be equipped with the same 3.8-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine as found in the 12C. The powerplant will be detuned however, as the P13 will be positioned as the brand’s entry-level model and will likely produce between 450 and 470PS of power. Power will be transferred to the rear-wheels via a seven-speed dual clutch transmission.

More details about the upcoming car will be revealed prior to its debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The new McLaren P13 will be pitched against the Audi R8, Porsche 911 and Jaguar F-type among the others.
