Maserati Alfieri

The luxury brand, Maserati, will embark on its largest product expansion to date. The Modena-based carmaker has officially confirmed its SUV - the Maserati Levante for 2015, while the Maserati Alfieri could arrive in two years time. The carmaker has also announced plans to build the Alfieri, in both coupe and cabriolet versions.

The Alfieri sports car will be based on the Alfieri concept which was revealed at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. Maserati has confirmed that the car will be offered with a V6 petrol engine in both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions. While the rear-wheel-drive car will only get 410PS of power, the AWD version will be offered in two power outputs- 450PS and 520PS.

The Maserati Levante will come with an all-wheel-drive only, and will be equipped with a V6 engine that will produce 350PS and 450PS of power. The car will also be offered with a V8 petrol engine which is expected to produce 560PS of power. This engine will also be seen in the Ghibli, Quattroporte and the GranTurismo. The new SUV will compete against the Jaguar F-Type.

The Gran Turismo on the other hand won’t be around until 2018, which means Maserati will continue to run the current model for the next few years. The new Granturismo will however be based on the Ghibli, Qauttroporte platform, and is set to be rear-wheel-drive only.
