Maruti Suzuki S-Cross bookings open at Rs 11,000

Maruti Suzuki dealers across the country have started taking bookings for their all-new product that is soon to be launched in India, the S-Cross. The S-Cross will go up against the likes of cross hatchbacks like the Hyundai i20 Active and compact SUVs like the Renault Duster, Ford Ecosport and the Hyundai Creta. The Maruti Suzuki S-Cross will only be available with a diesel engine in India.

When contacted, dealers in Mumbai and Delhi mentioned how the S-Cross was generating a great amount of interest in India especially since the car comes with modern and butch styling which is unlike most Maruti Suzuki products recently. The S-Cross has also generated a lot of interest since recently a lot of Indian automotive manufacturers have brought cross-hatchbacks and crossover type vehicles to the Indian market like the Hyundai i20 Active. The S-Cross can be booked in India for a sum of Rs 11,000.

As we mentioned earlier, the S-Cross comes with two engines, both diesel, a 1.3-litre and a 1.6-litre DDiS engine mated to a manual gearbox. The 1.3-litre engine makes 90PS of peak power and 200Nm of torque while the larger and more powerful engine makes a good 120PS of peak power and an equally exciting 320Nm of torque making it one of the most powerful engines in its segment and price range. The larger engine also gets a 6-speed gearbox and will offer owners a mileage of almost 22kmpl.
