Maruti Suzuki Ritz achieves 2 lakh sales
The contemporary styling, best in class features and European Design are contributing factors for its success especially amongst the young couples

Of all the Maruti Suzuki labeled compact class hatchbacks on sale in the market today, the Ritz has been anything but a back bencher. A safe, comfortable and efficient A2 offering from Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), the Ritz just like other MSIL products has sold by the dozens, and continues to do so.
Launched back in 2009, it’s taken this quirky looking hatch just three years to achieve a milestone sales figure of 2 lakh units, making it one of Maruti Suzuki’s fastest selling premium hatchback offerings alongside the Swift. The Ritz (Read : Long Term Review) has been quite a popular car in Asian markets at large, and MSIL has so far exported over 8,000 units to these markets. Some of the popular destinations include South East Asia and other neighboring countries.
Commenting on this achievement Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Chief GM (Marketing), Maruti Suzuki said, “We are happy that Ritz has found appreciation for itself among consumers across age groups. The Ritz has indeed played a wonderful innings so far. In current context too, when market is skewed towards diesel, we expect Ritz to gain more volumes in the future as well.”

Whether it’s the contemporary styling or the so called European Design cues on the car, the Ritz still has a lot going for it and continues to be the vehicle of choice, especially amongst younger couples.
So with more than 1 million fans on Facebook and a few coveted design and consumer choice awards backing its name, the Ritz now joins rank with its siblings the Swift, the Wagon R and the Alto as being yet another one of MSIL’s success stories, a contribution that has undoubtedly played a vital role in the company recently touching a mammoth figure of 10 million units sold in India.
