Maruti Suzuki Baleno Facelift Slated To Launch By June 2019

Maruti Suzuki has announced the introduction of new automatic variant of the Baleno premium hatchback. The new variant has the automatic CVT (Continuous Variable Transmission) gearbox that will be offered for the Zeta petrol model. Maruti Suzuki has priced the new CVT Zeta (petrol) variant of the Baleno at Rs 7,47,701 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Since its launch in October 2015, the Baleno was offered with the automatic CVT option only for the Delta (petrol) variant.

By offering the CVT in the higher spec Zeta model of the hatchback, the buyers can now enjoy the features that have been skipped in the Delta variant. These features consist of chrome door handles, alloy wheels, push start/stop button with smart key, UV cut glass, leather wrapped steering wheel and multi-function speedometer display. The Zeta model also comes with illumination in the glovebox, luggage room and front footwell.
Other features like fog lamps, auto headlights, auto dimming inside rear view mirror, telescopic steering, follow-me home lamps, front armrest with storage are provided in the Zeta variant of the Baleno.
The Baleno hatchback is offered in both petrol and diesel options. The petrol is powered by a 1.2-litre engine that produces 84.3PS of power and 115Nm of peak torque while the diesel gets a 1.3-litre engine registering 75PS of power and 190Nm of peak torque. All models of the Baleno come with a 5-speed manual gearbox while only as mentioned above the petrol variants of the Delta and Zeta model are offered with a CVT gearbox option.
In the premium hatchback segment, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno competes against the likes of the Hyundai i20, Volkswagen Polo and the Honda Jazz.
