An anniversary edition of the Ertiga MPV sporting additional accessories is in the offing suggest reports

Maruti Ertiga Feliz limited edition

Just a little over a year after the Ertiga’s launch, Maruti is looking to spread some more ‘LUV’ by rolling out an anniversary edition of its MPV called the Ertiga Feliz.

We are still awaiting official word to pour in on what all features the Ertiga Feliz will have, but as per reports and some brochure scans, the special edition variant will sport similar kind of silver bits as on the recently launched Swift DZire Regal. So you’ll get a silver-coloured grille, fog lamps and outside rearview mirrors aside from a rear spoiler and special body graphics to differentiate it from a regular Ertiga.

Inside, the Ertiga Feliz will have a new interior styling kit (we have to wait and find out what this means but hopefully it includes better quality knobs and switches). Other changes will include a reverse parking sensor with digital display, seat covers and car pillows with Feliz branding, a back pocket organiser, steering wheel cover, and door sill guard and floor mats.

Update 04/06/2013: Maruti Ertiga Feliz and Swift DZire Regal to stay on sale

Maruti Ertiga

The engines will most likely go untouched and the Ertiga Feliz will continue to be powered by the K-series, 1.4-litre petrol mill and the 1.3-litre DDiS turbo diesel unit. Maruti may sell the Feliz only in VXi and VDi trims and though pricing is still a secret, expect to shell out about Rs 15,000-Rs 20,000 more than a regular Ertiga VXi, which costs Rs 6.70 lakh in Delhi (ex-showroom).

The Ertiga has been racking up decent sales in the 5,500-6,500 units mark on average since its launch last April. Exact figures are not known but Maruti sold 79,192 utility vehicles comprising the Gypsy, Grand Vitara and Ertiga (though mostly the Ertiga we presume) in the April 2012-March 2013 period. Sales of UVs have slid marginally to 5,318 units in April 2013 – the first time to have gone under 5,400 in over a year – and could fall further after Chevrolet Enjoy’s launch.

The Ertiga Feliz (Spanish for Happy), then, will have its task cut out. But can it spell happy times for Maruti all over again? Watch this space for pics, pricing and more updates!
