Toyota 86 14R60 revealed in Japan

Toyota has pulled the covers off its new car- the Toyota 86 14R60. This new vehicle is inspired by the Toyota 86 Griffon concept which managed to lap the Tsukuba Circuit faster than a Ferrari 458 Italia. Only 100 units of the Toyota 86 will be built, and the car will go on sale only in the Japanese domestic market.

The Toyota 86 boasts of an aggressive body kit that includes modified bumpers, revised side skirts and extended fender flares. The exterior also gets carbon fibre roof to help reduce weight of the vehicle, a centre outlet exhaust system and 18-inch lightweight forged magnesium wheels to help improve agility.

The sporty styling continues inside as well. The cabin receives lightweight sport seats, carbon fibre trim and Alcantara wrapped steering wheel. The new Toyota 86 also receives orange contrast stitching, TRD branded sill plates and special floor mats.

Beneath the skin of the new Toyota 86 is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine equipped with an optimised air intake, a high flow air filter and auxillary oil cooler. The engine churns out 200PS of power and 205Nm of torque. The engine is paired with an upgraded six-speed manual transmission which has a lightweight fly wheel, a high performance clutch and a quick-throw shifter.

The car also receives a strut tower brace, a boot-mounted V-brace, adjustable suspension with revised bushings and limited slip differential.

The limited-edition Toyota 86 is priced at Rs 6.3 crore, and will go on sale exclusively in the Japanese domestic market.
