Mahindra Two Wheelers, created out of the acquisition last year of the Kinetic Motors assets, has retained most of Kinetic's dealers of the 250 that it now has across the country

Mahindra Two Wheelers at present does not have any company owned dealerships, which could happen later on, Shinde said. Company-owned dealerships allow the manufacturer a direct contact with its customers rather than a filtered one through the dealer.

Having acquired 80% of the assets of Kinetic Motors last July, Mahindra Two Wheelers launched a revamped Flyte scooter. A brand new product from the new entrant in the two-wheeler market is expected sometime later this year, Shinde said, without spelling out the details. The Flyte scooter is currently selling approximately 3,000 units per month, which is an increase over the highest that Kinetic Motors sold. At its peak, Kinetic Motors sold around 2,000 plus a month of the vehicle. Other existing models from the Kinetic Motors lineup, like the 4S, Nova and Kine, are also being marketed but Mahindra Two Wheelers does not intend to bring back the Italjet.
