Mahindra to re-open XUV5OO bookings in January 2012

Automobiles in India, seldom make history within 10 days of going on sale. However in the case of the recently launched Mahindra XUV500 SUV (Read : Road Test), early success could be very well termed as a genuine understatement.

Launched on the 29th of September this year, it has quite literally been one of the most sensational new arrivals in recent times. Backed by a heap of marketing and advertisement campaigns ably backed by interactive social media platforms, the XUV 500 is without doubt Mahindra & Mahindra’s grandiloquent success story of 2011.

Many interested buyers, who till now have had to deal with the reality of the new age SUV being sold out within 10 days of launch, can now regain a cheerful smile, as Mahindra has now announced that it will consider re-opening bookings for the vehicles in January next year, provided it successfully completes the delivery of its existing 8,000 bookings.

For this purpose, the indigenous UV manufacturing specialist is also in the process of ramping up production at its plant in Chakan, which will enable to speed up deliveries and finally re-open bookings next month.

The XUV5OO has so far received an excellent response from most of its existing owners, who were lucky enough to have made their bookings well prior to the actual launch of the vehicle.
