The 2015 MV Agusta F4. Power of 210 horses from a motorcycle that weighs just 175kg. ‘Nuff said? Maybe not.
Aside from the specifications revealed at a presentation for journalists, pictures of the new superbike from the Italian motorcycle maker have also been making its rounds on the internet. This new F4 is essentially the customer version of the motorcycle that will be raced in the World Superbike Championship next year.
Weighing 8 per cent less than the current F4 RR, its 175kg dry weight gives it the best power-to-weight ratio in any production motorcycle. The 2015 MV Agusta F4 produces power of 1.2 horses per kg and to bring things into proportion the 2015 BMW S1000RR that has a fuelled weight of 204kg and is powered by 199horses stands at 0.44hp/kg.
Aside from the changes in the power-to-weight ratio, the 2015 MV Agusta F4 also gets a new cylinder head, crankshaft and camshaft, lighter pistons and titanium connecting rods. To enhance the overall handling the 2015 F4 gets Öhlins suspensions and the Termignoni exhaust to give it a sweet exhaust note.
The 2015 MV Agusta F4 already has a lots of carbon fibre and magnesium parts but more will be made available as optional extra including a full titanium exhaust part of the operational ‘racing kit’. The 2015 MV Agusta F4 will break cover at the EICMA Milan motorcycle shoe on November 4.
