Mahindra Quanto registers 10,000 bookings

Capacity to be ramped up by January next year to meet growing demand

 



After its much-anticipated launch on 20 September this year, the Mahindra Quanto has clocked over 10,000 bookings. “We are delighted that the Quanto has received over 10,000 bookings in a span of 2 months and we are thankful to our customers for this overwhelming response. This strengthens our belief that the Quanto will create a new category within the SUV segment with its unique value proposition. We are confident of meeting the demand for the Quanto and are in the process of ramping up our production capacity at Nashik towards the same,” said Pravin Shah, Chief Executive – Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra. The mini-MUV In order to meet the high demand, the company will also ramp up production of the mini-MUV from 2,500 units to 3,500 units annually by January next year.


Based on the Ingenio platform, the Quanto is Mahindra’s third vehicle to be developed from this platform and is an outcome of buyer insights pointing to the need for a compact and affordable compact MUV. Powered by newly developed 1.5 litre twin-turbocharged oil burner, the three pot produces 102PS of power and 240Nm of torque, the Quanto is available in four variants namely  C2, C4, C6 and the fully loaded C8 that features Intellipark Reverse Assist, 2 DIN music system with CD, MP3, USB and AUX and safety equipment such as ABS with EBD, dual airbags, high speed warning, engine immobiliser, etc.

Starting at a price tag of Rs 5.82 lakh, ex-showroom Thane, the Mahindra Quanto gives premium hatchbacks a sure run for their money.

     Yet to be tested . I am waiting to see the Twin Turbo performance . Hope it lives up to Mahindra reputation of a dependable vehicle which never lets you down on road. Talking of 24 years experience of MM 540 to Bolero Sportz.
