Mahindra Quanto bookings cross 5,000 in just 3 weeks

Attractive price tag and practicality make the compact MUV a success within three weeks of launch

Mahindra Quanto

Mahindra’s compact MUV, the Quanto, that was launched three weeks ago at a market shattering price of Rs. 5.82 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai) has already recorded 5,000 bookings.

The reasons behind the Mahindra Quanto’s success are understandable. Compact dimensions (sub-four meter length) and capacity to seat seven makes it the ideal city runabout in our congested urban environs.

So much so, that its practical side has made up for its widely reported refinement issues primary of which is the high NVH levels from the 1.5-litre three-cylinder diesel engine. However, with 101PS of power and 240Nm of torque, the Quanto does manage to trump its hatchback rivals by quite a margin.

The compact SUV segment is something the global market is looking at as these vehicles pack in a lot of appeal with their sporty design language and enhanced practicality over their premium hatchback counterparts. And although the Quanto is an MUV, its design language, lowered ride height, roof rails and the tailgate mounted spare wheel do make it look like an SUV of sorts.

Looks good and above average satisfaction during test drive. Quite handy while city drive. View is very good. Middle row seat is pathetic , surprisingly not adjustable and quite vertical too.. May have problems during long drive..will have to wait for customer review

XUV 500 Looks like a Tupperware breadbox on wheels.. The Quanto looks like a small breadbox on wheels. Even the PAL Rio looks better externally.

PAL RIo looks far better than Quanto.. Quanto's design is really stupid it looks dumb
