Platforms are painstakingly built to help manufacturers lay the foundations for future potential. And in under two years Mahindra’s very successful Maxximo platform has not only yielded the indigenous CV maker a range of products in the load and passenger segments, but owing to its versatile and robust nature has created vehicles that have in unison gone on to achieve the 1 lakh sales milestone.


Apart from the 0.8 ton mini-truck, the Maxximo platform offers 3 more products in the load and passenger segments, viz., the CNG variant of the mini-truck, the Maxximo Mini Van and the Maxximo Mini Van VX (Hardtop with Sliding Doors).


Studies done by market-research agencies, IMRB and TNS suggest that mini-truck owners ranked the Maxximo as No. 1 on the parameters of ‘advanced technology’, ‘powerful’ and ‘car-like’.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. P.N. Shah, Chief Executive - Automotive Sector - Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, “Maxximo has firmly established itself with its advanced-technology proposition that offers greater earning, less fatigue, more peace-of-mind and more status to its owner. In the process, Maxximo has raised the bar in the market on power, fuel economy, comfort, safety and style”.

In less than 2 years, mini-trucks and light people carrier offerings based on the Maxximo platform have together captured 25% of the market, and M&M expects this platform to continue contributing in a big way in the near future.
