Mahindra has launched the Maxximo CNG pick-up priced at Rs 3.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the BSIV version. Powered by world’s first two cylinder C2 CRDe diesel engine, the mini-commercial vehicle puts out 26PS with a claimed mileage of 19km/l and a range of 270km on CNG. The pick-up has a loading area of 35 sq ft and rated payload of 750kg.

“Mahindra is committed towards sustainable mobility and the environment. And the launch of the Maxximo CNG BSIV is one more step in that direction. At the same time, Maxximo CNG delivers a better value proposition to its owners and drivers which results in enhanced earnings for them,” said Vivek Nayar, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Automotive Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra. The vehicle has been strategically placed along with the Ace and Magic commercial vehicles to cater to a wider audience.

The Mahindra Maxximo CNG also comes with frontal crash protector that meets the frontal impact norms (AIS 029, for N1 category vehicles). A first for its segment, the Maxximo CNG features booster-assisted brakes with Load Sensing Proportioning Valve that ensures more control while braking. Also, a cut-off switch for the engine has been provided to avoid any hazards while refuelling. On the inside, the pick-up comes with a bigger bench seat and dual tone interior, however, the rest of the interior is more or less the same as the existing Maxximo.

According to Mahindra, the Maxximo CNG is a well-packaged goods carrier that is ideal for last mile transportation of goods. Besides, it’s also an eco-friendly mode of hauling goods.
