Mahindra reported a sales rise of 1 percent in the domestic passenger car segment last month

Mahindra April 2015 Sales report

It proves to be a good month at the sales charts for carmakers in April. Mahindra has reported a 1 percent rise in sales last month, which may not be a big number but bucks the trend of negative numbers posted for months at a go. Especially after reporting an 8 percent drop in annual sales a month ago, a one percent rise in sales in April spells good news. Mahindra group exports meanwhile grew 4 percent.

Speaking on auto sales performance, Pravin Shah, President and Chief Executive, Automotive, Mahindra & Mahindra said, “We are happy to have achieved an overall growth during April 2015. The auto industry is hopeful of a better financial year as we see positive sentiments on the back of various policy and project announcements leading to higher levels of economic activity. At Mahindra we expect to perform better given the positive sentiments and the upcoming launches of our new products”.

Mahindra has a few new products planned in the SUV space, the first being an update to the XUV500. This will be followed by an all-new compact SUV. Recently, Mahindra Reva reduced prices of the e2o by Rs 92,000 extending benefits from the FAME scheme to customers.
