Mahindra Arjun Novo 605DI-i launch

Mahindra & Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Sector (FES) launched the new Arjun Novo 605DI-i tractor at Rs 7.35 lakh (ex-showroom Pune). The Arjun Novo is the first new tractor offering to be launched by Mahindra since it launched the Arjun 605 Di in 2000. The new Mahindra Arjun Novo will replace the Arjun as the flagship Mahindra tractor offering in our market and has been priced at a premium of Rs 15,000 over the model it replaces. The Mahindra Arjun Novo will be offered in two variants – open station and air conditioned cabin. 

Speaking at the launch, Pawan Goenka, Executive Director, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, "Mahindra is the global leader in tractors by volumes. Mahindra Arjun Novo 605DI-i lifting power being demonstrated

The Mahindra Arjun Novo is the first tractor platform to be designed and developed in-house at Mahindra Research Valley, the company’s global research facility in Chennai and according to company officials six new tractors based on this platform will be launched in the near future. Powering the Arjun Novo is a four-cylinder motor generating 57PS and 236.9Nm of peak torque with 33 per cent back torque, which Mahindra claims is the highest torque rating in the segment while also being the most fuel efficient. Power is transmitted by a new synchromesh gearbox with 15 forward and three reverse gears.

The Mahindra Arjun Novo has a pulling power of 2,400kg and lifting power of 2,200kg which was demonstrated to the media by pulling a bus and lifting a tractor. According to Mahindra, the Arjun Novo underwent the most extensive testing in our country. 73 tractors were tested on its performance in 40 different applications across 8 states for a cumulative of 70,000 hours. Mahindra has invested Rs 300 crore in the developing the Arjun Novo and it will be manufactured at its production facility in Nagpur, Maharashtra.
