Over the past few years Mahindra has carved a name for itself under its Mahindra Adventure banner. Mahindra Adventure has four initiatives under its umbrella, namely, Special Escapes, Challenges, Great Escapes and Motor Sports. Mahindra’s latest initiative under its Special Escapes venture is the Wildlife Escape.

The first edition of the wild escape was held from February 9 to 14, 2014. The flag-off took place in Nagpur from where wild-life enthusiasts made their way in the forests of Pench and Kanha. The Pench forest is a home to fierce predators such as Leopards, Tigers and other wild animals such as Cheetahs, Gaurs, Wild Boars, Swamp deers (Barasinghas) and Jackals.

These jungles also house several migratory birds such as the Malabar pied hornbill, Indian pitta, Osprey and some of the endangered species of Vulture and local Peacocks and Kingfishers. While the expedition was mostly about disciplined convoy driving on the tarmac, from one tiger reserve to another, participants got their share of off-roading thrills in one of the pre-planned safaris where Mahindra vehicles were taken into the reserve to spot wildlife.

Speaking about the Wild Escape 2014, Vivek Nayer, Chief Marketing Officer, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd, says, “The latest addition to our calendar of events, The Wild Escape is in keeping with our promise of providing adrenaline pumping challenges and escapes. The first edition gave its participants a taste of wildlife, nature and uninhibited photography, while the vehicles drove through the heart of the tiger country. There could not have been a better way to feel the call of the wild, than this ultimate untamed driving holiday.”

This five-day expedition started off from Nagpur, and traveled through the nearby wildlife reserves of Pench and Kanha before heading back to Nagpur again.
