Back in June 2013, it was announced that Lotus, which is revered for its achievements in the world of motorsports and performance-oriented road cars will be the entering the world of motorcycles with the C-01. In reality, Lotus isn’t exactly building a motorcycle but is just lending its brand name to Kodewa and the Holzer Group. The designer of the C-01 is ex-Volkswagen designer Daniel Simon. He has previously designed for Bugatti and was also the pen behind the stunning Lightcycles in the 2010 Hollywood sci-fi flick ‘Tron: Legacy’ so don’t expect a run-of-the-mill motorcycle in terms of design.

Details about the bikes powerplant has emerged and it is speculated that the C-01 will be powered by a borrowed V-twin engine. The stock engine is rated at 172PS but it is expected that the engineers will work their magic to raise the output over 200PS. The C-01 has already clocked over a 1000km of road testing and there are two different prototypes undergoing testing. One of the bikes features bodywork which has been crafted from carbon fiber and the other is a naked offering. Further details will be released next month and we hope it hits the streets soon.
