Land Rover to introduce petrol variants in India

Owing to the Delhi car ban of diesel vehicles with engine displacement over 2.0-litre and with the noticeable demand of petrol vehicles, Land Rover’s current range is expected to be soon accompanied with petrol variants also

Range Rover Evoque

Land Rover an internationally renowned SUV manufacturer. The manufacturer’s product range of SUVs in India mainly comprises of diesel powered vehicles. Land Rover is expected to introduce petrol variants which will be sold in parallel with its existing diesel models. The SUV manufacturer is likely to deploy the 240PS 2.0-litre four-cylinder and powerful 340PS 3.0-litre V-6 petrol engines in its present vehicle line-up. Out of it current range only few select variants of the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport are offered with a 5.0-litre supercharged V-8 petrol engine.

Land Rover Discovery Sport

The reason for the manufacturer to introduce the petrol variants is due to the noticeable demand for petrol vehicles and the ban imposed by the Delhi government on diesel cars having engine displacement of 2.0-litre and above. Viewing Land Rover’s current offering to the Indian market, the Range Rover Evoque is expected to be powered by the 2.0-litre petrol engine mated to a nine-speed automatic gearbox. Whereas the 3.0-litre supercharged V-6 is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox will make its way into the Discovery, Range Rover and Range Rover Sport.

The current line-up of Land Rover consist of Discovery, Discovery Sport, Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and the Range Rover LWB, and the Range Rover Evoque.
