Land Rover Defender final special editions launched

The Land Rover Defender will soon go out of production due to stringent EU emissions and crash safety norms. But before it goes, the legendary Defender will get a series of three special editions to commemorate the history and heritage attached to the brand.

The Defender Heritage Edition draws its inspiration from early Land Rover models but with a modern twist and a Grasmere Green paintjob contrasted by a white roof. It can also be visually distinguished by a heritage grille and HUE 166 graphics as a throwback to the registration plate of the first pre-production Land Rover known as "Huey". Only 400 units will be made of this edition and will be available in 90 Hard Top, 90 Station Wagon, 110 Station Wagon body styles.

The next is the Defender Adventure Edition, which as per Land Rover is aimed at people who want to adopt the ‘go anywhere, do anything’ attitude. This edition comes with extra underbody protection and rides on Goodyear MT/R tires. Only 600 units will be made and they will all be equipped with a special leather trimmed interior. The Adventure edition will be available on both 90 and 110 Station Wagon models.

The last and most expensive special edition, called the Defender Autobiography Edition is a more luxurious variant. The Autobiography edition comes with a two tone exterior and handmade Windsor leather interior. The Defender Autobiography Edition also comes with a more powerful engine making 150PS of peak power and 400Nm of peak torque. Only 80 units of the car will be made making it one of the most exclusive Land Rover Defenders ever made. All these models will be available in a few months and will be priced at a premium over the standard variants.
