Exactly a year after its introduction, the outlandish Lamborghini Egoista is set to go on permanent display at Lamborghini Museum

Lamborghini Egoista

Designed by Walter De Silva, Head of design at Volkswagen, this one-of-a-kind Egoista was revealed in 2013 to celebrate Lamborghini's 50th anniversary. Now the spectacular Egoista will go on display to the public permanently at the Lamborghini Museum in Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy.

The Lamborghini will share the museum halls with other stars from Lamborghini’s past, including the Lamborghini 350 GT, Lamborghini Sesto Elemento, and a one-off Lamborghini Miura concept.

The Egoista which is Italian for ‘selfish’ borrows its design cues from the Apache attack helicopter. Carbon fibre and aluminum are used heavily throughout to keep the supercar’s weight down. Lamborghini Egoista is fitted with LED marker-lamps instead of the actual headlights. Along with those, the car is also equipped with small clearance lights and side-markers.

The design is sharply distinguished by a muscular structure with alternating open and solid areas, and the profile suggests the stylised silhouette of a bull about to charge. Exiting the Lamborghini Egoista is performed by opening the hatch and climbing out of the cockpit of the car. This car does not have an interior – it has a cockpit.

The Egoista is based on the Lamborghini Gallardo and packs a modified version of its 5.2-litre V10 engine which churns out an impressive 600PS of power. Performance specifications were never announced by the Italian carmaker.
