Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt Ltd (HMSI) has inaugurated its new traffic park in Hyderabad in collaboration with Hyderabad Traffic Police.

This is Honda’s eighth traffic park across the country and the first traffic park to promote road safety in south India.

Honda’s road safety instructors will educate and train people from all age groups free of cost from Monday to Saturday. The company says instructors will also provide training to female riders to become independent two-wheeler riders in just four hours.

“Honda believes that with proper training, safe-riding habits can be inculcated amongst two-wheeler riders. Now more and more people in Hyderabad can learn how to ride a two-wheeler safely and conveniently from Honda’s skilled and trusted safety instructors,” said Tomoaki Nagayama, Deputy Director - South Region, Sales & Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd.

For children too, Honda is offering fun awareness activities at the traffic park, learning basic road safety in the ‘Safety with Fun’ programme. Five to eight-year-olds will be engaged in games like road safety snakes and ladders and cycling, while 9-12 year olds will learn from practical experience on CRF 50 motorcycles.

Ladies over 18 years of age can avail training to ride two wheelers from dedicated women safety instructors at the traffic park. For experienced riders, there are tests like riding on a narrow plank in controlled and safe environment and new riders can improve their ability to predict and react to traffic hazards on Honda’s proprietary riding simulators.

Honda says it has educated over 1.42 lakh individuals at its seven existing traffic parks in India. Promoting road safety is a part of Honda’s CSR initiatives as a responsible manufacturer and has resulted in several recognitions for the company.
