Hot Wheels creates Darth Vader car

The four-day annual multigenre entertainment and comic convention event - San Diego Comic-Con is round the corners, and toy-manufacturing company, Hot Wheels, is all geared up to impart a visual treat to all the visitors. The American toy carmaker will display a life-size version of the Darth Vader car at this pop-culture celebration.

This ride marks the first collaboration of the ‘Star Wars’ sci-fi franchise with the popular toy car brand. The Darth Vader is built atop a C5 Corvette chassis, and mimics its palm-sized counterpart perfectly, right down to its lightsaber side pipes and red wheel trim. The interior of the real-life car is even modeled after the inside of Darth's helmet and emits his signature assisted breathing sounds. The custom-built vehicle is capable of accelerating with a top-speed of 128kmph.

The American toy maker is among several other toy makers releasing limited edition collection toys at Comic-Con. The Star War’s die-cast vehicle will be offered for sale at the pop-culture celebration for an approximate price tag of Rs 2,500.
