BMW has pulled the wraps off its 2015 BMW 1-Series facelift ahead of its public debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Available in three-door and five-door iterations, the new 1-Series gets several cosmetic upgrades and a revised engine line-up under the hood.

On the exterior, the refreshed car receives a large kidney grille with a more sculpted frame and chrome accents.  The hatch now comes standard with daytime running LEDs while complete LED lighting system (LED headlights with High-Beam-Assistant function and LED fogs with cornering function) is optional. The side profile receives flared wheel arches and new character lines. On the rear end the 2015 BMW 1-Series facelift receives new bumper and two-piece taillights with L-shaped graphics and LED technology.

The facelifted BMW 1-Series gets new upholstery options, a 6.5-inch central display and a controller unit mounted on the centre console. Customers can also opt for a more expensive navigation system which comes with a bigger controller and a larger 8.8-inch screen. The German carmaker has also updated the buttons and knobs with chrome surrounds while the keypads of the radio and climate control system receive high-gloss black detailing. The dual-zone climate system features a white light in daytime mode and orange in night mode.

The German carmaker has also updated the engine lineup of the hatch. The BMW 1-Series is available in the 116i and 118d specs in the Indian market. The 116i will now be equipped with the 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine capable of churning out 109PS of power and 180Nm of torque. The 118i will recieve the 1.6-litre four-cylinder delivering 136PS of power and 220Nm of torque. The 118d will continue to be powered by the 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine producing 150PS, an increase in output from 143PS, and 320Nm of torque.

We expect the refreshed BMW 1-Series to be launched in India towards the end of this year.
