Micro Max

The Micro Max events were scintillating with close racing all round. Mohite’s Racing driver Pradyumn Danigond claimed victory but he was given a run for the money by Maini Racing’s Mira Kirit Erda. Danigond managed to overtake the Baroda girl in the final corner to secure his win and claim valuable points. However it was Mira who put in exhilarating performances all through the weekend and led Round 4 from qualifying to the final. She was at her aggressive best as she drove the fastest lap in 33.259 seconds and finished first in Heat 2. Phaneesh HB of Mohite’s Racing took the final spot on the podium in the final race.

Junior Max

Bangalore boy Kush Maini of Maini Racing ruled the Junior Max category, finishing first in both the heats, the pre-final and the final. Maini was off to a flying start which he quickly converted into a hefty lead and eventual victory. The fight for podium spots was intense among Abhirath Shetty (Meco Racing), Dhruv Mohite (Mohite’s Racing) and Krishnaraj Mahadik (Mohite’s Racing). Eventually Shetty and Mohite came through to secure podium places, while championship leader Mahadik had to settle for fourth place. Maini meanwhile benefited from the batle behind him to cruise to the chequered flag with a comfortable margin of 13.4 seconds.

Ameya Bafna at Round 4 of the JK Tyre Rotax Max Karting Championship

Senior Max

Rayo Racing driver Ameya Bafna started on pole and led the pre-final to the chequered flag 4.7 seconds ahead of Mithun Ganatra of Maini Racing in the Senior Max category. Continuing his brilliant form, Bafna also won the final of Round 4, serving notice to championship leader Anshuman Chatterjee (Rayo Racing). The chain coming off mid-way through the final cost him valuable time and points as he had to settle for a lowly sixth place. With his wins in Rounds 3 and 4, Bafna has closed in on Chatterjee and is most certainly a contender for the championship. Defending champion Chittesh Mandody of Mohite’s Racing took the second podium spot a comfortable 3.5 seconds ahead of Mithun Ganatra.
