The American bruiser seems to offer a lot of advanced comfort as well as convenience features, along with its renowned off-road performance credentials

Jeep has listed the specification details of the Grand Cherokee’s variants on its official Indian website. According to the site, the Cherokee will be available in three variants: the base ‘Limited’, the mid ‘Summit’ and the performance-oriented ‘SRT’. The cars are expected to make it to the market by this year’s festive season.

Going by the list of features on the website, even the base Limited variant is very well specced. It gets features like four-way adjustable lumbar support, electrically adjustable leather bucket seats, auto-dimming driver-side rear view mirror, heated steering, five-inch touchscreen infotainment system with nine amplified speakers, etc. On the outside, the Limited will get 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped with 265/60 R18 on/off-road tyres. It also gets advanced safety features like four-wheel traction control, active head restraints, multi-stage front airbags, knee airbags for the driver, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Park Sense for the front as well as rear, etc.

The Summit variant boasts a few more features compared to the Limited trim. On the inside, it gets a bigger 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-screen blue-ray DVD player for the rear passengers, dual-window panoramic sunroof, SRT high-performance audio, and so on. On the exteriors front, the Summit trim receives bigger 20-inch wheels to add to the appeal, and they are wrapped by 265/50 R20 all-season tyres.

The Summit and the Limited trims share the same 3.0-litre V6 diesel motor which produces 243PS of power. They also share the same eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle-shifters. However, the Summit trim gets a more advanced Quadra-Drive 4x4 system compared to the base trim.

Speaking of the SRT trim, it gets more or less the same interior features as the Summit variant, except for a few standard features that are offered as an option with the latter. Like for example the optional 19-speaker music system is standard with the SRT; however, it doesn't have panoramic roof. It is heavily reworked to cope with the added punch of performance it carries. The SRT gets a 6.4-litre HEMI V8 engine that produces 482PS, which is channelled to all the wheels via a Quadra-Trac 4x4 system. It also gets bigger brakes and better suspensions along with the Sport mode -- with the transmission.

The feature list seems quite satisfactory when compared with the competition. Jeep is also expected to offer the cars at quite a competitive price tag. Do visit the official website to get all the details about this American bruiser.
