JCB India Introduces ecoMAX Engines

JCB India has launched the much touted JCB Engine range in India under the ecoMAX brand name. The new BSIII engines will be produced at the company's Ballabgarh facility.

JCB made a statement to the world when they first announced and introduced their diesel engines globally by setting a land speed record with the JCB DieselMAX, the world's fastest diesel powered car.

Now, JCB India has finally ushered in the JCB diesel engine range for their product line up in India. Globally there are already over 1,50,000 JCB machines running on these engines, and to further customize the engine for Indian conditions, the company has put the engines through rigorous testing in varied climatic conditions for over 50,000 hours.

The new JCB engines, launched under the brand name ecoMAX, are said to be more efficient and their strong built has also allowed the company to increase the service period for major components to 500 hours of work time which directly translates to lesser down time for the operator as well as lower overall ownership costs.

The ecoMAX engines will be produced at JCB India's Ballabgarh facility in Haryana, where the company has installed a production line for 40,000 units annually. The engines boast of having Indian components amounting to 75 per cent of the total build. The engines are available in different power outputs ranging from 76 horse power to 150 horse power, allowing these engines to be utilized in a number of vehicles for varied applications.

According to Mr. Vipin Sondhi, MD & CEO, JCB India, the new engines will first be utilized in the JCB 3DX backhoe loader amongst other construction equipment that have to comply with BSIII norms. The ultimate goal is to get all JCB machines to run on JCB engines in the near future.
