Jaguar Land Rover to unveil F-Type coupe at 2014 Indian Auto Expo

Jaguar Land Rover’s enclosure at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo may well hold some of the most beautiful cars on display. Apart from the F-Type convertible, the XF and XJ sedan, Jaguar will unveil the all-new F-Type R Coupé in India. The F-Type R Coupé, comes with a hard top and a more powerful version of the 5.0-litre supercharged V8 found in the convertible. The F-Type R Coupé should be priced at around Rs 2.0 crore, ex-showroom, Mumbai, putting it up against the likes of the Aston Martin Vantage S, the Audi R8 V10+ and the Porsche 911 Turbo. 

Jaguar, like always will also bring a few concept cars at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. We can also expect the highly acclaimed Jaguar C-X17 SUV to be showcased at the Indian Auto Expo too. The C-X17 concept, in production form will be Jaguar’s first ever SUV and will go up against the likes of the Range Rover Evoque and the Porsche Macan. Although already displayed at the last Auto Expo, we also think the C-X75, Jaguar’s turbine powered showcase of technology and design to be displayed alongside the C-X17. Jaguar will also most likely display its entire range of R-powered cars like the Jaguar XFR and the Jaguar XKR, XKR-S and XKR-S GT. 

On the flipside, Land Rover will launch the long wheelbase version of its already mammoth Range Rover in India. We expect the long wheelbase Range Rover to be priced at around 2.5 crore, ex-showroom Mumbai making it the most expensive SUV in India.

Land Rover will also be launching the 2014 avatar of the popular Range Rover Evoque with its new 9-speed gearbox and a few other minor upgrades. Land Rover might also display their new Concept Range Rover Evoque convertible at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo along with the Land Rover DC100 concept. The DC100 is stated to be the replacement to the soon to be defunct Land Rover Defender. 

Apart from the above concepts, Land Rover will display its range of current cars such as the Freelander, the newly updated Discovery and the recently launched Range Rover Sport. The standard wheelbase Range Rover will also be there on display along with its long wheelbase brethren.
