Toyota C-HR Crossover concept teased

Toyota has released a teaser image of the Toyota C-HR concept destined for a debut at the 2014 Paris Motor Show which is scheduled to take place in October. The Japanese carmaker claims that its upcoming vehicle will reveal an innovative vision for a compact crossover model.

Toyota explains that its C-HR concept combines a powerful new design language with an engaging driving experience and a hybrid powertrain. The model also shows the brand’s unique take on the C-crossover segment.

A teaser shot of the Toyota C-HR concept shows a sweeping silhouette with a sharply raked roofline, slender high-mounted headlamps, a roof spoiler and some striking LED tail lamps which impart it a sporty appeal.

No further details about the C-HR have been released yet, but it is believed the concept car is directly related to the Auris Cross test prototype, spied testing at Nurburgring in Germany. A production version is likely to be sold globally from 2017. The Japanese carmaker is tight-lipped about the engine the new crossover will use, choosing only to confirm it will be a hybrid.

Along with the Toyota C-HR Crossover concept the Japanese carmaker will also stage the European premiere of its first hydrogen-powered fuel cell battery sedan. This model is slated to go on sale in 2015.
