Klock Werks’ Karlee Cobb gives the latest addition to the Indian Motorcycles, the Scout a redesign

Indian Scout Custom Chopper - the Outrider

Retaining much of the traditional design cues, Indian Motorcycles recently introduced the Scout. The Scout gets modern touches all round including beefy tyres, stubby fenders, a round headlamp and a leather saddle. But then there is so much more that can be done with a cruiser like the Scout, and Klock Werks’ Karlee Cobb shows just that in their Scout based chopper – the Outrider.

The Outrider was built with the bobber as inspiration, and the fat 180 section rear tyres complimented by the 130 section front rubber let slip just that. And to fit the larger front tyre, the front fender had to be changed too. A quick glance at the handle bars is enough to realise that the Outrider develops a bit on custom bicycle DNA. The original Scout being a low riding bike, Karlee wanted to retain this trait on the custom as well and keeping that in mind the seat has been reworked too. The split taillight gives the rear a contemporary look. Needless to say, a custom cruiser has to have abundance of chrome, the engine casing; the rear suspension springs and the sprocket all have a hint of chrome.

“My goal was to build a bike that while is clearly customized, is one that a decent home mechanic could build,” Karlee admits.

For Klock Werks it was extremely important to ensure that all modifications were easy to implement on the new Scout. Aside from the seat, and the handle bars, the exhaust too was an easy to fit piece as they come from Kully Co. With all the custom modifications done on the Scout, the Outrider surely looks a lot hardcore, and considering that it wasn’t too difficult to make, it can surely make quite an impact for any custom motorcycle fan.
