India-made Fuso trucks launched in Bangladesh

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) along with Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), Japan has forayed into Bangladesh market by launching FUSO Trucks manufactured at its Chennai plant, making it the sixth strategic market since beginning of exports in May 2013.

According to Daimler, Bangladesh is one of the key markets in Asia for FUSO Trucks as the products are designed and developed to meet the growing demand for reliable and robust trucks.

The trucks will be sold through the exclusive dealer, Rangs Motors Ltd, an authorised distributor in Bangladesh. Daimler India has been shipping FUSO Trucks to markets such as Kenya, Sri Lanka, Zambia, Tanzania and Zimbabwe. The company is now focussing on strengthening its presence in Africa and Asia and is targeting growth in the future markets.

The Fuso truck range, manufactured at DICV’s Oragadam plant, comprises five models spanning medium/heavy-duty trucks(25-49 tonnes /FJ, FO and FZ) and medium-duty trucks (9-16 tonnes/ FA, FI). The Oragadam plant has a capacity to produce 36,000 units.
