As the Scirocco Cup is flagged off Aditya patel wastes no time in settling down and races well to impress us straight away.

Though Chennai lad Aditya Patel didn’t manage to finish on the podium, he astonished the crowd and finished in a spectacular fourth place at the Hockenheimring in Germany on Saturday. He qualified in fourth place giving keeping him in the second row of the grid.

Aditya was off in a jiffy and managed to overtake Ola Nillson of Sweden to take third place and then had to battle with the race leader for the top notch. While the front runners were too busy trying not to let their positions slip away, world touring car Legend Nicola Larini was eating the lead off every one and swiftly made a move on Aditya. With two laps to go, the Larini pushed the Indian driver down to fourth giving him no time to recover his position.

In what was his first international race, Sailesh Bolisetti, winner of last year’s Volkswagen Polo Cup India finished 18th but was clearly learning from the mistakes he made in the course of the first round.

Aditya was not disappointed with his fourth place finish, as it makes third place for him at the end of the first round. "It's extremely encouraging to end the first round on a positive note. With a few more improvements from my side, I'm confident of better results in the races to come!" said a self-satisfied Patel. The Next race will be at Speilberg in Austria.
