Hyundai Genesis' future line-up leaked

Hyundai recently announced plans to make Genesis a separate platform for its future luxury cars. The “Genesis” moniker is also being used for the manufacturer's flagship luxury car that is available in some markets. The same car was showcased at this year’s Auto Expo in Noida and Hyundai also commented on the possibility of it coming to the country in the near future. Recently, though, the manufacturer's supposed future line-up has been leaked in a picture.

The small pamphlet-like image shows what appears to be the Genesis’ future line-up. The image consists of six cars that include a limousine, the G90, which was unveiled last year. Then there's the future roadmap that indicates what the manufacturer could bring by 2017 and also by 2020.

If this image is of the roadmap is to be believed, Hyundai might bring three cars by 2017 that will include a mid-luxury sedan named G80, a mid-luxury SUV, and a near-luxury sedan named G70. Going further, the Genesis brand can add two more cars to its arsenal, a near-luxury SUV and a near-luxury coupe, by 2020.

There is no doubt that Hyundai plans to take on the big German trio with the Genesis brand, and rightfully so as the manufacturer is walking on this trail with the success the Genesis car received in some markets. Moreover, if we see the cars in the roadmap we can see how this line-up resembles the line-up of the Germans. The G90 will clearly sit against the likes of the Audi A8, BMW 7 Series, and the S-Class, while the G70 could sit against the like of the A4, 3 Series and C-Class.
