Hyundai has revealed in South Korea the facelifted 2014 Elantra (Avante) following a teaser released almost two weeks ago

2014 Hyundai Elantra

This is one Hyundai car with plenty of attitude and a fair bit of ego, and understandably so as it has spent most of 2012 bagging every automobile design award across publications. Whatever it lacked in terms of cosmetics and interior gadgetry has just been incorporated in its 2014 Avante version, which was recently unveiled in South Korea.

The minor exterior revisions to an already fabulous looking saloon include the front bumper, radiator grille, fog lamps, rear bumper, along with two-tone 17-inch alloys. The 2014 Avante also has projection headlamps, LED daytime running lights and rear combination lamps.

The stylish layout of the Elantra on the inside sees the center air vent position moved slightly upward on the Avante, while the front center armrest has also been raised. Newer driver assistance systems and creature comforts also include rear seat air vents, ventilation seats, a 3.5-inch OLED screen, flex steer and Smart Parking Assist System (SPAS).

The 2014 Hyundai Avante / Elantra would perhaps make do with a 1.6-liter diesel engine with stop/go system producing 128PS and 279Nm of torque. When mated to the manual gearbox it will have a fuel consumption of 18.51 kmpl while with the automatic it will consume 16.1 kmpl.

The face-lifted version of the Hyundai Elantra is expected here in India sometime towards the end of 2013 or early 2014. Stay tuned for more updates and expected pricing at the time of launch.
