Hyundai has unleashed its Veloster Midship concept at the Busan International Motor Show this year in South Korea. The Veloster Midship concept is created by the same team that worked on the i20 World Rally Car. The unique aspect about this new two-seater concept car is that it features a mid-engine layout.
The Veloster Midship concept is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged Theta GDI engine which produces 300PS of power. And since it has the engine behind the driver’s seat, the concept would have excellent weight distribution and handling balance.
The Veloster Midship measures 4,220mm long, 1,865mm wide and 1,340mm in height, making it slightly wider and lower than conventional versions of the hatch. Keeping to its sporty pedigree, the new concept car features extended fenders and a big rear wing, along with new front and rear bumper. The car is fitted with racing exhaust system and a lot of carbon fibre elements. Rear-Mid (RM) decals on both sides and a set of multi-spoke alloy wheels finish off the competition-bred look.
Hyundai has not revealed any details about the interior of the show car. The Veloster Midship appears to be ready for production, but Hyundai has clearly stated that it is merely a concept that is not being considered for production.
