Husqvarna returned to the supermoto class as it unveiled the new FS 450. The new motorcycle is based on the Husqvarna FC 450 motocross bike with inputs from its parent company KTM. One of the main criteria for the Husqvarna engineers was to keep the weight of the bike as low as possible and for this purpose the Husqvarna FS 450 features a lightweight chromium molybdenum frame, durable three-piece injection-molded subframe, and cast aluminium swing arm for the chassis. All this lightweight elements mean the FS 450 tips the scale at just 110.5 kg and according to company officials it also helped in improving the handling dynamics of the supermoto offering.

Powering the Husqvarna FS 450 is 449cc, water-cooled, 4-stroke mill pumping out 61PS at 11,500rpm. The motor is mated to a 5-speed supermoto gearbox via a Alder sourced slipper clutch. Unsurprisingly the bike employs a WP 48mm USD forks with 280mm suspension travel and a fully adjustable monoshock setup at back with 292mm suspension travel.  Braking is done by Brembo 310mm dia disc at front and 220mm dia disc at the rear. The 2015 Husqvarna FS 450 will be priced at Rs 7.74 lakh in the German market with sales in Europe commencing from October 2014 onwards.
