Honda has registered a growth of 57 per cent in sales between April and December 2012 on a Year-Over-Year basis. The company sold 51,478 units between April and December 2012 compared to 32,771 units in 2011.
Honda sold 4,242 cars in December 2012, a growth of 296 per cent over the corresponding period in 2011.
The company sold 2,286 units of the Brio hatchback, 1,442 units of the City mid-size sedan, 365 units of the Jazz premium hatchback, 79 units of the Accord premium sedan and 70 units of the Civic executive sedan.
Honda plans to introduce the sub four-metre Amaze compact sedan that is based on the Brio hatchback in 2013, which will be the first diesel Honda in India. There are also plans for a Honda City diesel and the 1.5-litre diesel engine from the Amaze will eventually feature in the Jazz and Brio hatchbacks.
