With an aim to up the sales in the commuter segment, Honda is planning to launch a new low cost motorcycle in India.

Honda CD 110 Dream

While the Indian market is maturing with respect to affordable performance motorcycles, a chunk of the two-wheeler sales still come from the commuter class of motorcycles. With an aim to dethrone the current leader Hero MotoCorp, Honda will soon introduce an entry-level motorcycle that will be placed lower than the CD 110 Dream. Needless to say that it will be the most affordable offering from the big H.

We recently got a first glimpse of this new offering from Honda and as expected it will borrow its design language from the Dream series. In fact it will share a lot of its parts with the CD 110 Dream like the front fascia and the tank. However, look a little closer and you will spot a few differences between the upcoming offering and the current CD 110 Dream – like spoke wheels instead of alloys any is also expected to have skinnier tyres.

At the heart of things though, the new entry-level offering will sport the same 110cc engine that we have already seen on the CD 110 Dream and will also be mated to the same 4-speed gearbox. That said Honda is expected to retune it for improved efficiency.

Currently under development, the new entry-level offering from Honda will be priced lower than the CD 110 Dream which currently costs Rs 43,461. We expect it to be launched at around Rs 40,000 mark.
