Honda unveiled its futuristic scooter christened the NM4 Vultus at the 30th Osaka Motorcycle Show in Japan. The word Vultus in Latin means appearance, expression or face. In terms of styling, the Honda NM4 Vultus can fool most as a concept scooter but in reality it is a production spec motorcycle. According to the Japanese manufacturer the NM4 Vultus has been designed by a young team of designers, who tried their best in maintaining the form and design to the concept scooter. The designers have focussed the mass of the NM4 Vultus at front and it features LED headlights, tail lights and indicators. The low slung look is inspired from the futuristic machines seen in the anime and manga television and film styles, known collectively as “Japanimation”.
The NM4 Vultus sports an all-digital instrument console that looks cool and is easy to read. Another highlight of the NM4 Vultus is the pillion seat which can also be flipped upright to turn into a backrest for the rider. Powering the Honda NM4 Vultus is 745cc, twin-cylinder mill churning out 55PS at 6,250rpm and torque figure stands at 68Nm at 4,750rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear-wheel via a six-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). Owing to this transmission, rider can either select complete automatic mode or a trigger-operated computer game-style manual MT mode.
