Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) have launched the all-new CB Unicorn 160 at Rs 69,350 for the standard variant and Rs 74,414 for the Combi-Brake System variant, ex-showroom Delhi.
What’s entirely new is the all-new carbureted and air-cooled 163cc engine with Honda’s patented HET technology. Maximum power is rated at 14.5PS and peak torque is 14.61Nm at 6000rpm.
The new Unicorn 160 is not a ground-breakingly sporty model, with the style and design on the conservative side. Design and components more or less look like carry-forwards from the CB Trigger. The bike features a sculpted muscular tank with tank shrouds accommodating the 3D Honda logo, digital instrument panel and finned side panels, similar to the CB Trigger.
The seat is a broad and flat single unit, and looks to be a comfortable one for both rider and pillion. It is towards the rear where Honda has made some changes, in the form of an all-new taillight and a small saree guard that gels with the fins on the side panels.
The Unicorn 160 gets telescopic front forks and a monoshock rear. Braking duties are taken care of by a single 240mm disc at the front and conventional drum brake at the rear.
Honda claims the new Unicorn will offer class-leading fuel efficiency figures of 62kmpl, thanks to the all-new engine developed with Honda’s HET technology. The new motorcycle will be dispatched from the third week of January.
