Ducati is expected to release a brand new version of its Scrambler model later this year. The company’s well-known scrambler line of motorcycles was made from 1962 to 1974.
The Bologna headquartered company has released a promotional video showcasing a sneak peek at the 2015 Scrambler. From the looks of the motorcycle featured in the video, the 2015 Scrambler has retro styling, rounded lines, sleek elongated fuel tank, flat single-piece seat, with the engine mounted on a trellis frame.
Kitted with dual sport tyres, as well as cooling fins for the air-cooled motor, the 2015 Scrambler is expected to be powered by one of Ducati’s smaller air-cooled v-twin engines and is likely to be unveiled soon.
The original scrambler line from the ‘60s and ‘70s was powered by single cylinder engines – first, with 250cc and 350cc versions and later, in 1969, with a 450cc engine.
The Scrambler series was primarily intended for the American market and included a few bikes with Desmo cylinder heads. The Italian motorcycle company carried out continuous technical adjustments to the Scrambler engines right uptil 1974, when production was halted.
