A rendering of the production version of the upcoming Honda CBR 250RR has been posted online

The Honda CBR 250RR has to be amongst the most highly anticipated new motorcycle launch globally. It first debuted as ‘Light Weight Super Sports’ at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show and ever since then bikers have been waiting to see the production version of the 250cc motorcycle. Among the main reasons for the curosity surrounding the bike is its sporty styling, the current generation CBR 250R isn’t the most pretty looking bike on sale and is more of a sports-tourer than an outright quarter-litre supersports machine.

Now Japan based Young Machine has posted a rendering which it claims is close to the production-spec model scheduled to debut as soon as August, 2016 in the Asian market. From the image  it is clear that the new Honda CBR 250RR will employ an aggressive design language with sharp body lines, sculpted fuel tank and chiselled tail section. It also sports conventional single side exhaust muffler which is supposed to be a 2-1-2 system that goes well with the overall design.

Not to be mistaken with the Honda CBR 250R, the new CBR 250RR will be powered by a parallel-twin motor and will be positioned above it as a premium quarter-litre offering from the Japanese two-wheeler giant. Expect the twin-cylinder to generate around 37-40PS of power and around 23Nm of torque. It is also likely that the new Honda motorcycle will get goodies like ride-by-wire and switchable riding modes. Other details regarding the Honda CBR 250RR is the fact that it might not be produced in Japan to keep production cost low and Indonesia seems to be the likely candidate.

The chassis has been tuned for better handling dynamics. The clip-on handle bars and rear-set footpegs should result in an aggressive and sporty riding posture. Suspension duties are handled by USD front forks and a monoshock unit at the back. Braking will be done by petal disc brakes on both the ends with ABS as an optional extra. The new Honda CBR 250RR will compete against the Yamaha R3 which is already on sale as a CKD model in the Indian market.
