Honda Cars India would like a lot better show from their cars than the numbers in April 2015 show as the Japanese carmaker enters a period of consolidation with its offerings. The Company’s sales in the domestic market grew 14 percent in April 2015 posting a total of 12,636 units as opposed to 11,040 units in the same period last year.
There is absolutely no touching the City in the C-Segment and it looks like there will be no further new challenger for a long time and that spells good fortune for Honda. Last month, a whooping 8,203 units of the City were delivered, almost double that of the Maruti Ciaz, the second best-selling car in the segment at present.
Honda could sell 2,862 units of the Amaze meanwhile. One point of time a strong seller, the Amaze now can do with a facelift to freshen things up as newer entrants in the segment make it difficult for the compact sedan. What is surprising is the numbers of the Mobilio though, which at 689 units seems to be facing the heat from the recently launched Renault Lodgy MPV. Honda also exported 853 units in April, taking the cumulative total to 13,489 units.
