Honda 2 Wheeler Gains Market Share, TVS Tops JD Power's Survey

Honda 2 wheeler sales have increased by 27% in April as compared to April 2015, while the TVS Motor Company has bagged the top spot in JD Power's Customer Satisfaction (2WCSI)Index

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) have registered a growth of 27 percent in April 2016, as compared to that of April 2015. India’s second largest motorcycle manufacturer registered growth in exports too.

The manufacturer sold 413,971 units in the domestic market as compared to 328,980, which is a 26 percent growth over the April 2015 sale. When the exports are taken into consideration, which are up by 1 percent as compared to last year’s, the growth stands to 27 percent (26+1 percent). 

HMSI also registered growth in their market share, which received a 2 percent bump over that of April 2015. Honda’s market share in April 2016 is 27 percent as compared to 25 percent of last year

To keep up with the demand, Honda has increased the scooter production by as much as 50,000 units and that especially with the Activa recording an increase in sales by 35 percent. The recently launched Navi has been doing well too, with more than 5,000 units sold since its launch.

TVS Motor Company Bags top spot in JD Power’s 2WCSI

JD Power 2016 Two-Wheeler Customer Satisfaction Index (2WCSI) Study has awarded TVS motor company with the top spot in the list. According to the study, TVS scored 773 points out of 1,000, which is 25 points ahead of the industry average which stands at 748.

The study measures the customer satisfaction via a survey, which includes: vehicle pick-up (22%), service advisor (21%), service quality (20%), service facility (19%) and initiation of service (18%).

The committee came to the conclusion after evaluating 7,270 two-wheeler owners across 45 cities in the country. And all the vehicles in the survey were purchased between November 2013 and March 2015. The study covers 10 different two-wheeler makes and ranges across 75 different motorcycles/scooters. The study was conducted between November 2015 and March 2016.
