Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) recorded a year-on-year (Y-o-Y) sales growth of 47 percent in the month of January 2012. A total of 1,89,353 units were sold by HMSI in January 2012. The month of January in 2012 marked another significant achievement for the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer as it achieved a sales milestone of 9 million units.

As of now, HMSI is the third largest two-wheeler manufacturer in India with a 15 percent market share (Domestic and Export) in the month of January 2012. HMSI launched the revised Honda Dio with a more powerful 110cc engine that is 10cc bigger than before and offers 15 percent mileage over the old engine. It was launched at Pragati Maidan in Delhi during the 2012 Auto Expo.

The 110cc engine in the Honda Dio produces 9PS of power which makes it more powerful than the Honda Activa and the Suzuki Access 125cc. The Honda Dio now comes with enhanced legroom, tubeless tyres and Honda’s combi brake feature that operates both the front and rear brakes when the rear brake lever is engaged.
