Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, registered a 1 per cent growth in December 2012, with sales of 5,41,615 units compared to 5,40,276 units in the preceding year. This follows the record sale of 11 lakh units during the festive months of October and November.

Anil Dua, Senior VP (marketing & sales) said, “December being the last month of the calendar year usually witnesses sluggish retails as customers tend to postpone their purchases to the new year. Despite that, we have been able to dispatch over five lakh two-wheelers during the month.”

Demand for models like the Splendor, Passion and the recently launched scooter Maestro has contributed to the sales crossing the half million unit mark. Related: Hero MotoCorp sells 3.5 lakh units in 15 days of festive period
